Our Story

The Skills Training and Resource Center for Women Empowerment (STAR Women) story is one of hope, belief, and excellence.

We are a registered non-profit organization in Ghana working to provide skills training, resources, mentorship, and networks for underprivileged and marginalized women and girls to discover and maximize the best versions of themselves.

As a social enterprise, we offer skills-based educational initiatives that prepare young people for success in the journey of life.

We believe that intentionally training and developing the skill sets of the youth, especially young women and girls who would have generally not gotten the chance to do so, will give them access to opportunities that enable them to participate and lead in the agenda of Africa rising.

Mission

Our Mission is to equip women and girls from underprivileged and marginalized backgrounds as well as the youth with the mindset, skills, experiences, resources, and support networks that enable them to overcome personal and professional life challenges in order to contribute to local development while making a global impact.

Vision

Our Vision is to be the epicenter for empowering women and girls to break ceilings to lead, innovate, and build the Africa we want.

Core values

Our Values are code-named the “She-Attitudes” because we believe that women and girls need to nurture, uphold, and internalize unlimited standards to become and excel as leaders and change-makers.
