Before I enrolled in the Cash Skills Program at STAR Women, I ran a small shop selling toiletries, but I have always dreamed of doing something more. For a long time, I wanted to learn how to make wigs, but I lacked the resources to pursue this passion. Thankfully, I got the chance to participate in this training and that was a major turning point for me.

I gained more knowledge, met new friends, and had the opportunity to learn from successful entrepreneurs. I now know how to make high-quality wigs. I have learned strategies to effectively market my products on social media platforms. I can design flyers, business cards, videos, and other promotional materials. I have chosen specific colors for my brand and can explain the reasons behind these choices. I understand how to manage my business and create a budget. I have learned how to draft a solid business plan. I’m excited to apply these skills and ready to expand my business!

With the chance to finally learn wig-making, I am eager to take my new skills to the next level. Not only have I started producing wig caps, but I am now able to design timely flyers, market my products on social media, and manage my wig startup all by myself. I decided to name my venture “Chic Wighup.” I have been proudly showcasing some of my works on my WhatsApp status and I am operating from home for now but I know the future of my business is bright and promising.
